What is the difference between a DUI and a DWI?

In Texas, a DWI is reserved for people who are suspected of being especially impaired due to alcohol or drug use. Even if a driver does not have a BAC of .08% or higher, they may be charged with a DWI. A person can only be charged with a DUI if they are under the age of 21 and found driving with any amount of alcohol in their system.
