Suspects sentenced in armored car robbery

Multiple people have been sentenced in the robbery of an armored car that occurred in Mesquite, Texas in May 2010.

A total of nine people were convicted in the case and the highest settlement was a convicted gunmen who will serve 210 months in a federal prison. Eight others, all Dallas residents, were convicted and their sentencing ranged from 48 months to 168 months in prison.

The documents on the case show that the defendants and accomplices stole $421,000 from a Loomis armored car that was at the Bank of America. One man initiated the idea and several others helped to plan it. Defendants have stated that a Bank of America employee told those involved what time the truck would be there.

The Loomis driver entered the bank and left with $412,000. Two defendants put him at gunpoint, took the money and ran with it. Two suspects were arrested at the scene and DNA helped to arrest several others.

Police arrest two suspects connected in jewel theft cases

Houston police have arrested two people that allegedly were connected in a jewel theft case and 30 similar cases throughout Texas and Oklahoma.

The two men, both in the mid-40s, were arrested last week in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Police investigated the case for seven months before getting the lead on the two men.

In February, nearly $6 million worth of gold, diamonds, and watches were stolen from a jewelry store. According to officials, the suspects cut a hole in the roof over the jewelry store’s vault. A surveillance video shows the men dragging an object and loading it into a truck before driving off.

Armed robbery occurs at Pizza Hut in the Woodlands

A Pizza Hut in the Woodlands, Texas was robbed at gunpoint on Thursday at 10 p.m.

According to employees, the incident occurred when a man walked into the restaurant and demanded money from the employees while he pointed a handgun at them. Witnesses have said that the man was wearing a black hoodie so they were unable to get a clear look at him.

The suspect then pushed all the employees to the back of the store and ran off with an undisclosed amount of money. He escaped in a tan van that had two or three other people in it.

Dallas man sentenced in theft case

A Dallas man has been sentenced in a trespassing and theft case and will now be serving 11 1/2 to 23 months on top of a sentence that he is already serving.

The incident occurred in October 2010 when the man robbed the furniture out of seasonal homes. This man was one of five that were charged breaking into unoccupied homes in the Thornhurst Country Club Estates. He is currently serving in Lackawanna County.

Dallas police search for computer thief

Two computers were stolen from an apartment in west Dallas and now police are asking for assistance to identify the suspect responsible.

A surveillance video shows a suspect enter an apartment complex’s business center and leave with two computers. The man then got into a small, dark vehicle and drove off.

The description of the man says that he is in his early 50s, weighs nearly 250 pounds and is roughly 6 feet tall. Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to come forward at this time.

Police search for two robbers possibly involved in 10 bank heists

A reward has been offered to anyone who can give information that can lead to the arrest of two men that may be involved in 10 different Dallas-area bank robberies.

The bank heists have all been in the North Texas area and have occurred within this past year. The latest hold up was on Dec. 3 and FBI agents have been asked to join the case.

Both robbers have been described as either black or Hispanic in between the ages of 16 and 25. They were seen leaving one of the heists in a black sedan. Anyone with information should contact the Dallas FBI office today.

Brother and sister arrested after suspected theft at Wal-Mart

A brother and sister were arrested at a Wal-Mart yesterday in suspicion of theft and robbery after purses and personal belongings were stolen from shopping carts.

Police arrested the 22-year-old female and charged her with third-degree robbery and second-degree theft. Her bond has been set for $25,000. Her brother was arrested later that day and charged with minor in possession of alcohol and second-degree theft.

According to the police report that woman took a purse from a cart that had debit cards and an mp3 player in it. When the purse owner tried to get the purse back, the woman pushed the purse owner and a Wal-Mart employee to try and get away.

Police have suspect in pickup truck theft case

A man who is accused of stealing a pickup truck at knife point in Fort Worth is also associated with other theft cases in the area, according to police officials.

The 46-year-old man is the of suspect in carjacking, attempted carjacking and purse snatching for incidents that happened in Fort Worth. He is also a suspect in cases that occurred in Dallas, including the robbery of a 77-year-old, four other robberies and two carjackings.

The man was arrested after a Dallas Police officer followed him in a pursuit that ended at the Love Field runway. The police officer rammed his car into the stolen truck that the man was driving in order for him to stop.
