Amanda Bynes arrested for DUI in West Hollywood

Twenty-six-year-old actress, Amanda Bynes, was arrested and cited for a DUI in West Hollywood on Thursday night after colliding with a police car at an intersection.

According to police officials, Bynes was leaving L.A.’s Greystone Manor Supperclub on Thursday night when she hit the police car. Her father recently told reporters that Bynes was drunk when she hit the car, but the officer pulled out right in front of her.

He went onto say that his daughter does not drink and she was just emotional after the accident. She was later released from jail with this citation, but will have to return to court when a date has been set.

Bobby Brown arrested by LAPD for driving under the influence

Bobby Brown was pulled over in an L.A. neighborhood after police saw him talking on the phone while driving. It is now illegal in the state of California to talk on the phone while driving without a hands-free device.

List released of cities with the most drunk driving arrests

A list has now been released rating the cities with the most drunk drivers and one Dallas-area city made the top 10.

The list was put together by Insurance.com and four cities in California made the top 10. Other cities in the top 10 include Fort Worth, Indianapolis, Columbus, Charlotte, Phoenix and Jacksonville.

Data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration shows that the 11,000 fatal highway car accidents had at least one driver with the blood alcohol level of the legal limit.

North Texas Crime Commission pushes for sobriety checkpoints

The North Texas Crime Commission is pushing for a new bill to pass in this legislative session that will allow for sobriety checkpoints to be used.

The sobriety checkpoint allows police to stop all drivers when they get to a certain part of the roadway. This gives police a chance to look at all drivers and check to see if they are under the influence.
