Two men have been sentenced to jail after admitting to smuggling drugs from Mexico to Houston.
According to court officials, the two men pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and were sentenced Friday. A 60-year-old man was sentenced to five years in prison while the 33-year-old man was sentenced to four years in prison.
These two men are allegedly part of the group based in Starr County and 20 others from this group were indicted in November. Authorities found nearly five tons of marijuana in an investigation into the ring.
