Former NFL running back Joseph Randle charged with three felonies

The trial date for 25-year-old former National Football League running back Joseph David Randle, who was charged with making a criminal threat toward a law enforcement officer, interference with an officer, and aggravated battery, has been set. He has made a plea of not guilty on all charges.

The accusation of making a criminal threat toward a law enforcement officer was in relation to an incident in May 2016, when a police deputy from Sedgwick County, Kansas said Randle made threats about killing him while he was in custody.

Randle’s legal counsels argued that he couldn’t carry out his threats via an intercom, but District Judge Joe Kisner found enough evidence to charge Randle with the felony.
