Many DWI bills still in committees, may not make it to laws

Before the 82nd legislative session multiple bills were filed by Republicans and Democrats to make punishments on driving while intoxicated much tougher, but with the session coming to a close it is thought that many of these bills will not become laws this year.

With only three weeks left in the session, many bills are still in committees and if they are not in the House or Senate by the end of the week, they will be dead. One representative is still hopeful that her bill will pass. The House Bill 3477 states that a driver that is convicted of a DWI five times, they will have their license suspended for 10 years.
