Texas considers "DWI Lite" charge

The Texas Legislature is considering a new law in January that would allow police to crack down on drunken driving.

The new law creates a sub category for “sub-drunk” and is called Driving While Ability Impaired. The law currently states that a person can drive if their blood alcohol level is under .08, but the new law means that a person could receive a citation for driving with a blood alcohol level of .o5 to .07. The punishment for this could be some type of traffic ticket. There are currently laws like this in New York and Colorado.

If you or a loved one has been charged with drunken driving, contact the Dallas DWI lawyers of Mark T. Lassiter by calling (214) 845-7007 to discuss your legal options.
