Five Dallas-area men were arrested after being suspected of being part of a drug trafficking organization which is active in at least two states.

Nearly $1 million and many weapons were seized from the five suspects and authorities believe that they were taking the money and guns to Arizona.

Officials are now becoming worried because of the frequency of these drug arrests and they think that Dallas may have a growing role in drug trafficking. An investigation into the issue began a few weeks ago.

Police charge wrong-way driver with drug offense

Police in Lufkin, Texas have arrested a man on a drug charge after he was found driving on the wrong side of the road.

According to Lufkin Police, the 34-year-old man attempted to pass 20 cars on the wrong side of the road. The cars were stopped at a traffic light when the man tried to pass them. A police officers spotted this and chased the man down until he stopped.

The man was arrested and shortly after, police found .2 grams of cocaine in the vehicle. The man was booked into jail and charged with reckless driving, possession of a controlled substance and evading arrest.

Man sentenced for methamphetamine trafficking

A man was convicted for a methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy that was operating in the Fort Worth area since 2005.

The 46-year-old man was sentenced to 360 months in prison after he was convicted in January for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and money laundering.

This man was the last of the organization to be convicted and several members of this trafficking organization were classified as armed and dangerous. A total of 19 defendants were charged with felony offenses.
