Man indicted for failure to register for sex offender list

A man from Porter has been re-indicted after he failed to register for the sex offender list.

The 52-year-old man stated that he would remain living in a Porter residence after his release from jail. He was serving 15 years for an aggravated sexual assault case. Once released, he had to serve time again for possession of a controlled substance.

The man then was released again and told the sheriff’s office that he needed to change his residence under the sex offender registry. The man never showed up to the appointment to register the address. His sister later filed a missing person report stating that she did not know where he was. He was later found by law enforcement officials and arrested.
