UTPA officials alerted in domestic violence incident

Officials at the University of Texas Pan America alerted students after a man was seen near campus with an AK-47 after a nearby domestic violence dispute.

The incident occurred at an off campus apartment when their was an argument between a man and a woman. The man then grabbed his belongings and left the scene on foot. One of the items was an AK-47 that was in a case.

Police alerted students about this because they wanted them to be aware of an armed suspect nearby, but did not think that he was going to use the weapon. Officials wanted to talk to the man about the incident that was reported.
