Texas man receives 16th DWI

A Texas man was convicted of his 16th DWI and after the jury deliberated for an hour, they sentenced the man to 99 years in jail.

The man was pulled over on August 28 for a broken tail light and also because police saw him swerving in and out of the lanes on the highway. He failed a sobriety test and had a blood alcohol content of .10.

At the time of the arrest the man was fleeing from a burglary where he also allegedly assaulted his girlfriend. The man may be able to seek parole in 10 to 15 years.
