Dallas police officer acquitted for DWI

Last week, a six member jury has acquitted a Dallas police officer of driving while intoxicated.

The attorney for the officer argued that the prosecutors had not proven during the trial that the man was drunk while behind the wheel. The officer was fired in September, but now has a long road ahead of him if he wants to get his job back.

The police department will now allow an appeals process. Since 2004, about a dozen police officer have been fired after being accused of DWI.
