Dallas police use cab/police car to prevent drunken drivers

Dallas police are using a car that is half-cop car and half-cab to push their campaign to prevent people from drinking and driving.

The Texas Department of Transportation’s campaign is called “Drink. Drive. Go to Jail” and it uses the car that is a patrol car in the front and a cab in the back to let people know that if you drink, you will either be taking a cab home or you will be riding in the back of a cop car.

Billboards in the area state ‘choose your ride.’ Austin and Fort Worth are also using these vehicle to help prove their point. Between this Friday and Sept. 6 law enforcement officials will be working to overtime in order to catch impaired drivers that are on the roadway because the Labor Day weekend is a heavy drinking weekend.

If you or a loved one has been charged of drunken driving, contact the Dallas DWI lawyers of the law office of Mark T. Lassiter by calling (214) 845-7007.
