Crack down on DWI's during Spring Break

In Amarillo, Texas, the police officers cracked down on drunk drivers during the Spring Break holiday.

The police department was able to have more officers on duty because of a grant from the Texas Department of Transportation to help keep their eye out for drivers who were driving impaired. During the break, their extra officers arrested nine DWI drivers and three other arrests for other crimes. During the week there were no car accident fatalities.
